Fatima, who works as a cleaning woman, lives together with her 2 daughters in France and is unable to speak French fluently enough to freely express herself in her daily interaction with her daughters. On the day she takes compulsory leave, Fatima starts writing a letter to her daughters in Arabic to convey the things she was never able to express before in French. This graceful film, which focuses on language barriers and generation conflicts, won the César Award in 2016 in the category of “Best Film”, while young actress Zita Hanrot won the César Award for “Most Promising Actress”.
